Genre: Fiction, Historical Fiction

Bamfield Posh is set during and after World War II and describes life in an isolated coastal fishing village from the perspective of a Canadian war bride. Falling under the historical fiction genre and set in the small fishing village off Vancouver Island, the book tells the story of Molly Stanford, a young bride, mother, aspiring singer and Jehovah Witness, and her shock, adjustment, and survival in her new reality in Bamfield mid- and post-WW2. This is an epic tale of community, hate and love, war and recovery, loss and desire and demonstrates how a tiny village can be so complex, where every single action impacts so many others. Right from the arrival of two new residents, Molly and her son Coho, to the return of her soldier husband and the tensions between the Indigenous tribe, especially Ignace, and the Bamfield residents, this novel utilizes the principles of the Domino Effect in the context of the wildness of both human beings and nature.
